OWNERS SISTER saying she wanted to congratulate us for having such well behaved little girls (all 4 under 5 yrs old) she didn't even notice they were siting next to children because of their proper manners. THERE WAS NOTHING. We were so annoyed by his lack of leadership. WE WILL NOT VISIT THIS PLACE AGain. We will be better off at Hugo's or Xochi. Lot's of hype and cost, with not much in return. Marginal food, at a high cost. It's not like the restaurant is on Rodeo Drive. It is across the street from a hospital construction zone, in a hotel parking lot. The restaurant was empty, so no issues with seating. Not many beer options, and the menu items seemed to be a bit pricey. Needless to say, we were thoroughly disappointed with the food, portion sizes and service. The good steak ended up being soggy, and over $6. The appetizers were tiny and expensive. Ex. 4 empenadas, were really two cut in half; and $1. Total bill for 5 people was $3.
We wanted to leave and it took over 3. It took so long to get our bill, that three of the people in our party had to leave to get back to the hotel to get some work done. As we were leaving the hotel, we realized there was a PF Chang's behind this restaurant. For $3. 50 we could have had a feast of great food and alcohol. We went the next night and only spent about $1. After watching DDD and seeing Guy Fieri rave about the Mexican food authenticity, he wasn't lying. Both times I came were during off peak times for brunch and grabbed seats up at the bar, which I find most time service is always on point. Plus these guys behind the bar are a hoot to shoot the breeze. I loved the variety of choices from the menu and if you're looking for Tex- mex prices they're a bit higher here. But hey, your getting authentic food from the homeland.
